August 31, 2010....yet another month end

* * * * *

As always,
crazy, busy, mind-blowing, overwhelming
month-end days.

clickety-clickety-click.

But time, also as always,
has once again passed too quickly.

This CAN'T be the end of August.
Tomorrow CAN'T be September 1st.
I agree with the artist:

I Love Mondays

* * * * *

Good Morning.
It's nice to see you again.
May I take your order?

It was a pleasure seeing you again.
I'll be happy to rush this order for you.
Of course I'll call you when it's done.
And fax it.
And e-mail it.
To you. Your customer. Your secretary.
The President. God.
No Problem.
Have a Great Day.

I LOVE MONDAYS
Gets you off your lazy Sunday evening duff.
Adrenaline.
Good stuff!!!

All my fault...it's all my fault

* * * * *

I did it.
I let too many employees get to me again.
"this is our vacation with the kids before school"
"this is our time in the time-share condo"
"this is the only cruise we could take with
47 other members of our family"
AAAARRRRG!

And...I let these excuses matter in one of the four
busiest months of the year.
So: too many people are off at the same time
and the rest of us are getting bloody
from the battle.

People are not going to like me in October
when I make the announcement
that their "reasons" are not the
problem of the person running a company
trying to make a profit to keep them
gainfully employed.

Whew.
I feel better.

Einstein said this?

I suppose that makes sense - he was also about physics.

New Office Equipment Installation

* * * * *

while the installation is ongoing
I notice one thing:
for the most part, everyone is still working
at their own desks.

Except me.
My e-mail is on a computer in the front of the office.
My work and phone are at the back of the office.
The minute I get a phone call, I need to email something
which means...yep
get your ass up and go to the front of the office.

That nutri-system system can wait - this workout is sufficient!

Liar Liar

* * * * *
I just told an old school chum
(found on Facebook)
that like she, I enjoyed what I did for a living.

I'm reconsidering.
I still love the business...sort of.
But "e-commerce" has delivered too many people
to the mannerless world.

I'm uncomfortable with my receptionist defining callers as 'nasty',
and I myself am taken aback by rude - curt - unyeilding.

I'm thinking of a MENUE OF SERVICES:
IF you, customer, can provide the necessary information,
I will exceed your expectations!
If you, customer, don't have time for me,
I will support that also.

Whoa. I REALLY like this idea.

TO BE CONTINUED!
